LEIGH Miners Rangers U12s ran out deserved 20-12 winners over Rylands.

Rangers went in front when a long ball by Myers saw Ogden score under the posts. Myers goaled for a 6-0 lead. More good approach play brought a try for Ashton and a 10-0 lead.

Rylands cut the deficit to 10-6 before half time and then just after the break slack Leigh defensive work let them in again for a 12-10 lead.

The turning point came when Ashton took the ball on his own '22' and beat all the defensive cover for a splendid try. With only minutes remaining, good handling by the Rangers forwards saw Sarsfield feed Ashton who went in for his third try. Myers goaled.
