LOWTON Wanderers went down to a last minute goal as Standish Juniors snatched a 4-3 win in the Under 15s section of the Leigh and District Youth League.

Wanderers had to take the field with just 10 players due to injury and illness but they fought bravely and were 3-1 up with 15 minutes to go.

Lowton's marksmen were Darren Warburton (2) and Danny Mole with good performances from man of the match Robert Sproston, Bradley Houghton, Paul Redhead and Matthew Corlett.

The Standish goals came from David Johnson, Matty Lynch, Michael Smith and Jonathan Hook.
