FOUR people have been arrested in Bury in the first week of the police Christmas drink-driving campaign.
A total of 44 motorists were breathalysed at the scene of road accidents or after being stopped on suspicion of driving under the influence of drink or drugs.
During last year's month-long festive crackdown in the borough, 111 drivers were tested. Twenty-five gave positive samples and were prosecuted. The minimum sentence on conviction of drink-driving is a 12-months ban.
