ONE motorist has been fined and a total of 18 others have been warned by police for using their mobile phones while driving during the first ten days of the ban.
Police have given most drivers the benefit of a two-week education and advisory period since the ban on using handsets while driving came into force last week, but this will end on Monday when anyone caught using their mobile phones while driving and in breach of the new laws will automatically be issued with £30 fixed penalty notices.
