A MOTORCYCLIST from Radcliffe died instantly when he collided with a cement mixer.
Mr Christopher Brophy (35) suffered multiple injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash in Trafford Park on Friday morning.
The accident happened at 6.20am when Mr Brophy, of Stand Lane, was driving his Honda CB500 bike on Parkway towards Trafford Park.
As he neared Parkway Circle his machine was involved in a collision with the rear of a Mercedes cement mixer driven by a 35-year-old man from Ashton-in-Makerfield. The dual-carriageway was closed for four hours.
An inquest opened on Tuesday and was adjourned to a later date to allow the completion of an accident investigation.
