CATTLE belonging to a Colne farmer won prizes at a Christmas Fatstock Show in Skipton.
An animal owned by Matt Townsend, of Barnside Farm, Laneshawbridge, won the best bullock reserve champion and the champion animal in the prime cattle arena at the Craven Cattle Mart's annual show.
His winning animal was a 16-month-old Belgian Blue-cross heifer.
Butcher John Whiteside, of Keighley Road, Colne, bought first and second prizewinning animals, which will be ready in time for the Christmas trade.
JR Mellin butchers, based in Every Street, Nelson, bought another second prize winner.
