A NEW promotional scheme has been launched at Turf Moor with the twin aim of increasing attendance at Burnley's homes games and putting across a social message.

The idea has come from footy-stuff.com, part of the Nelson-based Printoff Graphic Arts group.

The niche design and print specialist for the world of football has produced a wall chart and series of player cards for football clubs in conjunction with key partners in the area including the police and local council.

The cards, which target the 16-24 age group, each feature a different player, whilst on the reverse carry some key advice on issues such as a drinking and driving, racism and drug awareness.

They are designed to be collected and mounted onto a wall chart, which is supplied free of charge by the football club and selected cards are distributed at each home game until the end of the current season.

They were recently launched at the home of Burnley FC and to date 10,000 wallcharts have been distributed.

Jayne Purdy, special project manager from footy-stuff.com said: "We are very excited to be involved in this new initiative which we believe will have a positive impact in this area.

"Through our expertise in design and print, we want to help build these relationships with other football clubs across the UK and help foster good relationships amongst young people."

Edoardo Abis, marketing manager at Burnley FC added: "Footy-stuff.com played an integral part in the co-ordination and completion of the Player Card and Wall Chart project, all we had to do was to supply the artwork and they took care of the rest!"
