Taz, the lead singer of pop band Stereo Nation is making the transition from being a multi-million selling pop star to acting in his first film.
The suave singer will be starring in a film directed by Piyush Dinkar Pandya, the man who delivered the hilariously funny movie American Desi a few years ago. Titled The Arranged Marriage, the film is a romantic comedy set in North America.
Taz said that acting is something he has wanted to do for a long time: "I had a number of film offers before I decided to act in this movie. I realise that I am a singer and not an actor, so I was waiting for a film that would be a quality project, which would allow me to make the smooth transition to acting. I'm not jumping into the deep end with this film. It has a great script, a very talented director and well written role," explained Taz.
Although acting will play a major part in the latest chapter of Taz's life, he assures me that music will always be his priority. Next month will see the release of his highly anticipated new album Cafi Mumbai, a release that is expected to sweep the charts across the globe.
Then he will jet off to North America for a 12-date tour. "You can take a guy out of music but you can never take music out of the man."
"Music is my life and passion, so will always take priority. What has enabled me to grow as a musician in the past has been different life experiences and I see acting as another exciting life experience that I am very much looking forward to."
