A BLUEPRINT plan for the future of Cleveleys promenade and sea defences are set to go on display based on local ideas and suggestions.

The display, at the Frank Townend Community Centre, Cleveleys, from December 15 to 22, will also feature the results of a Wyre Council public consultation exercise which was the basis for the blueprint.

The exercise, conducted by the council in September, was designed to give local people and visitors the opportunity to comment on forthcoming improvements to the town's promenade and coastal defence system.

People were asked to complete a questionnaire rating the importance of different design features as well as facilities and features for the promenade.

More than 300 completed questionnaires were returned.

Wyre's portfolio holder for physical environment, Cllr Peter Hawley said: "The response to the public consultation exercise in September was excellent and has enabled a design brief to be drawn up that reflects what local people and visitors want from a new promenade.

"We hope people will take the chance to look at the results to see how their views have been taken on board."
