RADCLIFFE AC were out at the South-East Lancs Cross-Country fixture at Boggart Hole Clough last Saturday and enjoyed a fair bit of success.

In the under under-11 boys race, Jordan Dolan took a fine 5th place, followed in by Matthew Potts in 17th and David Potts, 23rd, the three then making up third team.

Jordan Beard in sixth and Jim Howard, 12th were the club's under-13's representatives, with Rebecca Howard taking a sprightly 14th place among the under-15 girls.

The ladies race threw some good performances. Carly Hancock struck good form with 13th place, her time of 23 minutes 29 seconds coming as the result of a hard effort. Running is all about improving on what you have been doing, and Glenda Garry had every right to be pleased as she took 36th place, and 8th among the over 40's, in 25.56.

Tanya Stewart followed up in 45th 26.57, and that got the ladies team home in 7th position.

Adrian Harris was up with the leaders in the men's race, 21st and 5th over 40 (they didn't categorise over-45's in this event) in 35.46, still good enough to hold off the ever-improving Danny Appleby who was 34th in 36.43.

Dave Bartlett made an impact, 74th in 40.03 and a place in front of Mike Howard, timed in at 40.17. Arthur Warren took 102nd place, 20th over 50, in 44.00, followed home by Jim Sutcliffe in 113th - 46.55 - and Tom West 117th and 6th over 60, in 48.26.

All this brought the men's team home in 8th place among the seniors, and 8th among the veterans as well.
