GRAHAM Haworth is delighted with the response of his Padiham players to Vince Overson's departure.

Haworth is back in sole charge at the Arbories after previous boss Overson left for Ramsbottom United last week, and his latest regime kicked off with a 4-3 win over Winsford United last Saturday.

"I told the players not to waste all the good work we did when Vince was here and go upwards and onwards and they responded very well," said Haworth.

"We made hard work of it on Saturday but in the second half we came out and they couldn't live with us.

"For some unknown reason we hit the panic button and it was more uncomfortable than it should have been, but I'm still pleased with the points and hope we can keep it going."

Padiham are back in NWCL Division Two action tomorrow at Cheadle Town.

Craig Williamson is set to return from suspension, but Ian Pilkington, who has been out since August, is not ready for the first team and should play half a game for the reserves at home to Atherton LR.
