BURNLEY bosses are sweating on an FA Cup windfall after being handed a trip to Telford or First Division rivals Millwall.

Upbeat Clarets chief Stan Ternent is already eyeing a place in the last eight for the second successive year after declaring the fifth round tie winnable.

Any hope of a crucial six-figure cash injection would appear to lie with the Conference side beating Millwall in their rescheduled fourth round tie in eight days time. The match was postponed last weekend due to a waterlogged pitch at Telford.

As the only non-league side still in the competition, television chiefs would surely be tempted to screen Telford v Burnley as one of four live fifth round ties.

That would mean the Turf Moor coffers being boosted by £265,000 in broadcasting fees, excluding gate receipts and the chance to progress further in the competition.

And the latter remains Ternent's main focus aside from the return to league action at Wigan this weekend.

He said: "I am naturally a little disappointed, but I would much rather be going to Millwall or Telford than be in Gillingham's position!

"It's especially disappointing because everyone has high hopes of getting one of the big boys.

"You are always looking for a home draw first, or one of the big teams away from home.

"But that's the story of most of our cup draws recently and we have to get on with it.

"At least it's an opportunity to go further in the competition and we have done okay in the FA Cup in recent years."

Clarets chairman Barry Kilby also accentuated the positive, adding: "Obviously the draw is not what we were looking for, but we will take it because it is a winnable tie.

"Should Telford come through against Millwall, there is a strong likelihood of the game being televised and that has to be our hope in the short term."

Kilby, who insisted the fight to avoid administration continues unabated, added: "A draw away to someone like Manchester United would have brought in a ton of cash and eased our cashflow problems considerably.

"Now, the focus on raising funds from elsewhere has to continue, so that's what we will do."

The FA have confirmed that the Clarets fifth round tie WILL take place on the weekend of February 14/15, even if Telford and Millwall cannot settle the tie at the first attempt.

A replay date has been set for the New Den for Tuesday, February 10, although the close proximity to the fifth round weekend means that should that happen, TV chiefs may be forced to look elsewhere to solve the logistics of screening a live game just four days later.

Clarets striker Robbie Blake is one of three players shortlisted for the 'Player of the Round' award following last weekend's FA Cup fourth round ties.

Blake received the FA nomination for his two-goal haul against Gillingham, including a sensational first half free kick.

Liverpool's own two-goal match winner Bruno Cheyrou and Swansea goalkeeper Roger Freestone are the remaining two candidates for the award, which fans can vote for until Friday at 5pm at www.thefa.com
