THE organiser of a private meeting to discuss the two proposed wind turbines on Edgworth Moor has assured residents that the contents of the discussion will be made public.

Residents living nearest to the site have been invited by organiser Coun Colin Rigby to the meeting at the Barlow Institute tomorrow night.

But others living further afield, who say they will still be affected by the proposal, were angry they had not been invited.

Coun Rigby said: "It will be a meeting of a couple of officers from the council and people who will be most affected if the plans were given the go-ahead.

"Last time we had a public meeting, more than 100 people attended including some that did not even live in the village.

"This time I've invited about 30 people living nearest so that they have the chance to put their questions to the officers in an orderly manner.

"The application was due to come to planning in February but it's now going to be March before it comes up.

"So we will probably have another open meeting mid February that everyone can come along to.

"People who have not been invited to tomorrow's meeting will be able to find out what was said because I am having it all minuted for them to look at."

There have been several meetings in Edgworth after many residents revealed their opposition to the plans to site the 95 metre-high turbines on part of Uglow Farm.
