FARMER John Anthony Holgate of Critchley's Farm of Heapey, near Chorley had his leg fractured after being attacked by a bull.
PC Sarginson who called to help was then chased all round the yard by the animal.
The butter ration was to be raised by one ounce to four ounces a week from February 21, the Food Minister Major Lloyd George announced.
