A MAN arrested over the disappearance of a mum-of-six today remained in custody.
The man, from Manchester, was detained after police obtained an extra 36 hours to question him from magistrates last night.
He was arrested on Wednesday over the disappearance of Zainab Begum, 56, of Burnley Road, Accrington. Her family told yesterday how they believe she is dead.
Zainab was last seen by her family looking upset at her home on Tuesday, January 13. When her daughter returned home from school in the afternoon she had gone.
There were a couple of reported sightings that day - at Poundshrinker and Nagyal Foods, both Accrington - but none since.
