WIGAN boss Paul Jewell admits he is a fully paid-up member of the Robbie Blake fan club.

Jewell knows Blake well from their time together at Bradford during the Yorkshire side's spectacular rise to the Premiership four years ago.

And the former Bantams chief expressed genuine surprise that 17-goal Blake is still not plying his trade in the top flight.

He said: "Burnley have got a big threat in Robbie, who is having a great season. I know all about him from Bradford and I think he is still a Premiership player to be perfectly honest.

"He played a big part in the promotion there under me at Bradford and he and Ian Moore have formed a good partnership at Burnley."

Jewell expects the Clarets to still be smarting over their harsh 2-0 defeat to the Latics at Turf Moor back in August.

And he anticipates fireworks on and off the pitch when the sides meet again at the JJB tomorrow.

He added: "Burnley will feel a bit aggrieved about the result at their place earlier this season and rightly so.

"It was our first victory in Division One and Burnley will feel they owe us one because they played well that day.

"I'm also looking forward to seeing Stan Ternent again. We've had the odd bust-up on the touchline, but we'll always have a drink together afterwards."
