STRIKING Allied Brewery workers threatened to halt production at Blackburn's Thwaites Brewery.
Angry workers from Warrington claimed they had the backing of transport unions and would stop deliveries of sugar and malt unless wholesalers were restircted to normal supplies by Thwaites.
Elsewhere, "Flippin' good" was the verdict at a gas showroom in Lord Street, Blackburn, when they invited visitors to take part in a special pancake contest to celebrate Shrove Tuesday.
