THE old Calderstones Hospital at Whalley closed five years ago but once employed about 1,000 people, so thousands have worked there over the years. They came from all over East Lancashire.
Anyone who has good memories of Calderstones may be interested to know that a Web site has recently started, run by Carole Goodsell (nee Whittaker). Its aim is to link old friends and colleagues, similar to 'Friendsreunited' but run by someone who actually worked there for many years.
