SWIMMERS at a Clitheroe swimming pool have been warned to keep valuables locked away after car keys were stolen from an open locker.

A Ford Focus was then taken from the car park of Ribblesdale Pool. The keys were snatched from a locker as the owner showered.

It was the second car theft in a fortnight from the pool, with a top-of-the-range BMW being stolen after a thief managed to get into a locker.

A man has been arrested and charged in connection with the theft of the Focus, along with eight other offences.

Inspector Bob Ford of Clitheroe Police said: "It is important that everyone makes sure they lock valuables up at the pool."
