IWRITE referring to a letter (LET, March 12) regarding speed humps.
I agree with the writer that these 'humps' are everywhere. What I would like to know is why, on Carluke Street, Blackburn, have they put a 20mph speed limit AND 'humps,' surely if there is a 20mph limit the humps are not necessary.
There is only sheltered accommodation on that road so it is not as if children play there.
Also we use that road on a regular basis and have not seen one accident, so why the 'humps' as well as a restricted speed limit?
A HARWOOD (Mrs), Hillside Avenue, Blackburn.
