A KEBAB shop worker who went into Argos to discuss buying a camera made the assistant an indecent proposal, a court was told.

Burnley Magistrates heard how Mehrzad Abdollian, 43, told the shocked woman he wanted sex with her and would not leave the store until they did. Abdollian then hung around outside the store, but was arrested after police were called.

The defendant, of Gordon Street, Burnley, admitted breaching the peace. He was bound over in the sum of £50 for 12 months.

An allegation of being drunk and disorderly was withdrawn against the defendant, who recently went into Burnley's Next store and asked an employee there for sex.

Sue Riley, prosecuting, told the court around lunchtime, Abdollian went into Argos and talked to an assistant about buying a camera.

The conversation went on for about 20 minutes and the employee eventually asked whether the defendant was going to buy one. Abdollian told the assistant he wanted to have sex with her, was told to get lost, but said he wouldn't until he had sex with the woman. The employee was shocked and upset and went for a male colleague.

Trevor Grice, defending, said Abdollian had a drink problem. He was a nice man when sober, but when he drank he drank to excess.

The defendant, who worked part-time, had taken steps to try and sort out his problem. He did not agree with everything alleged by the Crown.
