THE work of a stray dog charity has highlighted by the leader of Hyndburn Council.
Coun Peter Britcliffe, of Oswaldtwistle, met dog warden Steve Wood at the council's Scaitcliffe House offices in Accrington, to highlight the work of Hyndburn-based Stray Dogs in Need.
And Oswaldtwistle residents who attend next Wednesday's area council meeting will be able to hear all about the charity's work, when Mr Wood gives a presentation and answer questions from residents about the problem of dog fouling.
Residents will also be able to discuss developments on litter, recycling and renewal prospects in Oswaldtwistle.
The meeting, at the Civic Theatre, opens at 7 pm, with tea and biscuits after 9pm.
