TWO of Leigh actor Will Travis' young students are following in his TV screen steps.

After less than a year under the TV star's wing, 12-years-old Joseph Slack and Thomas Whittle, aged eight, have won auditions to film commercials for famous products.

Thomas, of Leigh Road, Leigh, is now appearing as former Brush Strokes star Karl Howman's nephew in Flash cleaning adverts while Joseph, of Shipham Close, recently flew to Copenhagen to film Lego ads, in which he plays a Ron Weasly-type character.

These are expected to be released in June in conjunction with the next Harry Potter film "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban".

Last week Thomas, who really impressed the sitcom star, was asked back to record a second Flash ad and spent a luxury weekend at the Gatwick Hilton.

Both are pupils at the "A Will and A Way" Leigh school which Will, real name Trevor Williamson, opened last June at the Albert Tattum Centre in Leigh.

The former Bedford High School pupil, best known for his six year role in the Sunday evening drama "Where The Heart Is" decided to set up a drama group to help youngsters into a stage career.

Now he has 80 on his books and runs sessions for 7-11 year-olds and over 12s on Saturdays and Mondays at the former Toc H Centre at Siddow Common.

Though he claims to be "resting" at the moment, Will has written three plays his group will perform from April 2-5.

They will give eight performances of the three shows by four different companies of actors -- with two shows each evening.

On Friday and Sunday audiences will see "Four o'clock Friday". This is followed by "Breathe Again".

Saturday and Monday brings "Four o'clock Friday" performed by an alternative cast of 7-12 year olds and this is followed by "Decisions, Decisions, Decisions"

Tickets for each performance are £3. For further details contact Will or Lorraine on 01942 740506.
