A LANCASHIRE police chief demanded a Home Office investigation into the number of police officers retiring due to sickness.
Chief Constable Brian Johnson said the number of officers retiring early would put pressure on the force.
He also criticised government plans to scrap the ranks of chief inspector and chief superintendent.
