STAN Ternent looks like being frustrated in his efforts to land a final loan signing before today's 5pm transfer deadline.

The Burnley boss has spent the week trying to bolster his numbers for the final nine games that will determine the Clarets First Division fate.

But with time running out he appears to have drawn a blank.

However, Ternent sounded the rallying cry ahead of Saturday's 'six-pointer' away to fellow strugglers Bradford by insisting he has total faith in the players still at his disposal.

He said: "It's hard at the moment, but what I would say is that if the players I already have are not capable of winning four games, with the teams we still have to play, then we don't deserve to stay up."

Ternent will now be hoping all his players remain fit for the final six weeks of the campaign.

Several players, including Lee Roche, Robbie Blake, Glen Little and Luke Chadwick have been carrying injuries in recent weeks and will have been glad of an extended break following last weekend's postponed home game with Wimbledon.

However, defender David May does need to tread with caution, since another booking in the next fortnight would result in him picking up a two-match ban at a crucial time in the battle to stave off relegation.
