ONE in three calls to the new 118 phone directory services are given the wrong number a survey has revealed.
I can believe that, it's happened to me.
The revelation comes only days before BT increases its 118 500 charge up from 25p to 40p.
Phone regulators had hoped that breaking the BT monopoly last year to let the 118 firms compete for the £280m a year business would improve standards.
It clearly hasn't with inquiries dropping from 750m a year to 300m.
Another case of if it's not broke don't fix it.
