REGARDING the shocking revelations that fewer than half of care workers are administering medicine correctly in residential care homes as reported in your newspaper on March 17, perhaps you could let your readers know that Protocol training does in fact offer work placed training in Medicine Administration in partnership with local FE colleges.
We have trained over 4,000 care workers in the past year and are the only training company to have its training material stamped with the Gold Seal of the Pharmaceutical Association.
The training can be funded by the government so it is a shame that more care homes aren't taking up the opportunity of high quality, recognised and importantly often free training.
