A BURNLEY family are being forced to flee the home where they have lived for 50 years, claiming they have been harassed and threatened with a petrol bomb.

The family are turning their home into a fortress, with CCTV cameras, panic alarms and grilles put on windows.

Denise Hughes, who lives in Brougham Street with her son, David 32, and teenage daughter Samantha, said they were being driven out by months of attacks on their property.

David's Volvo was written off after a youth used a baseball bat to destroy the car and threatened to firebomb the family.

Burnley's Hate Crime Unit are investigating the incidents, which they are treating as racially

motivated.
