ST AUGUSTINE'S RC Primary School, Lowerhouse Lane, has had a busy week.

On Monday the fire brigade visited school to work with the reception class, on Wednesday Burnley Football Club worked with Year Two, and today it is fund-raising day when the children will pay 20p to attend school in non uniform. There will also be stalls to raise funds.

THE next fellowship meeting at Greenbrook Methodist Church, Greenbrook Road, is on Tuesday, March 30, at 2pm.

Come along and enjoy listening to the invited speaker for the day.

It is open to all ages and you can meet new friends.

MANY ex-miners, families and friends from Rosegrove attended the Hapton Valley Pit Memorial Service last Sunday at Burnley Cemetery to pay their respects.

This is always a sad occasion, and once again a lot of people attended. Father John Haigh, from St Marks Church, led the service.
