ONE of the most distinctive voices in soccer will be heard at Gigg Lane on Saturday, when BBC commentator John Motson comes to town.
His visit to the home of the Shakers for the Boston United clash, marks a significant milestone for 'Motty', who will enter the Football League's 92 Club and join the exclusive band who have visited all the league's 92 grounds.
Amazingly, the popular celebrity has never visited Gigg during almost 30 years as part of the BBC Match of the Day team, something he intends to put right on Saturday.
He will be conducting a live feedback from the ground to the Saturday lunchtime Football Focus programme, before enjoying the pre-match Starkies Restaurant experience, hosted by Shakers' commercial boss Peter Young.
A commemorative trophy from the Football League will be awarded to him on the day, while the club itself intend to present him with a gift to remember his visit by.
Motson will also be filming throughout the game for next weekend's Football Focus programme.
