RELATIVES of murdered teenager Carry Ann Brown today told of their disgust at not being allowed to see a report into her care before it was made public.

Carry Ann, 14, of Huntingdon Drive, Darwen, was taken into foster care after being made pregnant by her father, Sean.

But she died in a crash on the M6 last August and her father later pleaded guilty to her murder.

Sean's sister, Yolanda Hillman - Carry Ann's aunt - and her mother Dorothy - Carry Ann's grandmother - went to Blackburn with Darwen Council's Social Services offices yesterday to request a copy of the report by the Area Child Protection Committee.

It looked into the care of Carry Ann, who was in a foster home in the Whitebirk area of Blackburn at the time of her death in August last year.

Sean, 35, took Carry Ann, a pupil at Darwen Vale High School, from the foster home, drugged her and deliberately crashed his car off the M6.

Following the incident, Blackburn with Darwen Social Services department launched its own review.

An executive summary of a report by the Area Child Protection Committee, was made public today.

But Yolanda, 35, one of four children to grow up alongside Sean, said the family were refused a copy of the report ahead of today's publication and told that the contents could only be read by Tracy Brown - Carry Ann's mum.

Yolanda said: "They told us they would not give us a copy of the report until it was published.

"We went to the social services offices and sat there and said we were not leaving until we got a copy of the report but we were told that we were not entitled to one and that the only person who was, was Tracy.

"But I am Carry Ann's aunt and my mum is her grandmother. My own daughter, who is disabled, was very close to Carry Ann.

"My children have had to have counselling because of what has happened. They had to go to Carry Ann's funeral and the whole thing has affected them deeply.

"Both my mum and dad have had to undergo counselling and my mum has been very upset about us not being allowed to see the report into her grand-daughter's murder.

"We were hoping that this report would be able to tell us what happened.

"A lot of what happened to Carry Ann I didn't know about until it came out in court.

"It made me sick and I still can't believe it happened."

A spokesperson for Blackburn with Darwen Council, said: "The reports are seen in advance by those with parental responsibilities, which in this case would be Carry Ann's mum, Tracy Brown."
