ALTHOUGH the weather may be wet in Stacksteads this week, members of the Riverside Park Group are looking ahead to the sunny days of June.
This year they are holding their annual free fun day for all the family on Sunday, June 13, at Stacksteads Rec, behind the Rose 'n' Bowl, Newchurch Road.
Secretary Christine Lamb said: "Events will include a fell race, fun dog show, fun fair, various musical entertainment, car boot stalls, a duck race, and much more.
"The event is organised by Kay Barcroft, almost single-handedly, and raises much-needed money for our various projects, and we are indebted to Kay for her hard work and enthusiasm."
Kay is appealing for helpers on the day, anyone who has any ideas for a stall or wants to publicise their organisation.
