ATHERTON-born Elsie Hilton celebrated her 100th birthday in style with a party at the Bedford Residential home where she has lived since August 2003.
A card from the Queen and a visit from Mayor of Wigan, Cllr Wilf Brogan, really made Mrs Hilton's day.
The daughter of a coal miner she worked at Leigh Court and has always enjoyed needlework, knitting, making clothes and decorating.
