A NUMBER of planning applications are due to be discussed at the next meeting of the council.

They include an extension at 34 Red Lees Avenue, an indoor swimming pool and outdoor tennis courts at Merrills Head Farm Barn, a barn conversion at Causewayside Farm, a conservatory and dormer extension at 70 Richmond Avenue, change of use from agricultural building to use for the manufacture units at Foxstones Farm and a porch extension at 3 Allendale Grove.

THERE will be an open day at the bowling green in Park Road on Sunday, from 11am to 4pm. Everyone is invited and free tuition will be available.

ON Friday the annual meeting of Cliviger Parish Council will take place in the village hall, starting at 7pm. At the start of the meeting, the chairman and officers for the next 12 months will be elected.

A POSITIVE response has been received from Worsthorne Estate Agents over purchase or lease of land adjacent to Mount Lane sportsfield. Issues of value are to be clarified so that funding bids can be submitted.

INFORMATION has been provided to Burnley Council to enable the replacement of the bench at Foxstones Lane and will consult with the landowner over the repair of the stone wall.

REPRESENTATIVES of Burnley Council have been invited to the June meeting of the parish council, but no reply has been received.
