WITH reference to the "sacking of Piers Morgan: I do take issue with MP Nigel Evans that the good name of the Queen's Lancashire Regiment can now be restored.

These soldiers need no vindication. Their illustrious name was not sullied, only the name and reputation of the Mirror group was discredited and shamed, because the nation will now ask "What else is false in this paper, what can be believed?"

The damage Morgan has done is to put the lives of all service people in the line of fire in the Middle East in jeopardy through the perception that the Arab world now has, if indeed it required the dubious help of Mr Morgan.

You may wonder at the opinion of a Canadian on this subject, but you must realise that the world reads your newspaper on the internet.
