TALENTED musician Samantha Minshall's run of success rolls on.
The 11-years-old tuba player, who recently won a place at the Royal Northern College of Music Junior School, has now been awarded a rare scholarship.
Samantha has been allotted a Robert Lewin Scholarship of £500 after being selected as one of 100 gifted musicians in the country.
The bursary from the Awards for Young Musicians charity will go towards the cost of buying a tuba -- so mum Helen can have her instrument back.
Samantha, who lives in Astley, followed in her brother Simon's footsteps by winning a place in the National Children's Orchestra.
The Boothstown Holy Family schoolgirl, who plays tuba in the orchestra is also a gifted horn, euphonium player and pianist.
She is a member of three brass bands: Astley Youth Band, which was started by her mother Helen, Wigan Youth Band and Bolton Youth Band and only started playing the tuba last September.
Helen said: "Samantha carries on the family tradition. Simon is already a member of the national orchestra playing bass trombone. Her dad and myself are both tuba players.
"We are very grateful to the AYM for awarding this scholarship to Samantha."
