THE last few days have seen quality bream to 6lb, and tench to 5lb, taken from Parkers Top Lodge.

On Thursday evening the third target match was held on the Bottom Lodge with improved weights of small bream.

Top weight fell to John Fletcher 3-4-13. In second place was Chris Hogan 2-6-1 and third, Roy Gough 1-8-5.

In the Todmorden AS Open held on the Rochdale Canal on Sunday, carp featured in the leading weights.

Mick Elleridge (Tri Cast Rochdale) fishing peg 261 on the Gas Works length had roach and skimmers plus a 4lb carp to take top weight with12-9-0.

In second place was Steve Fairburn (Wakefield) fishing peg 250. He had a 6lb carp, but a smaller backing weight to weigh 10-1-0. Close behind was John Christie (Tri Cast Rochdale) 9-5-8).

In the Pilsworth Fisheries Open held on the Bottom Ponds on Monday, Daz Shaw (Drennan NW) had top weight 50-8-0.

In second place was Jonathan Jowett (Drennan NW) 30-1-0 and third, Martin Kaye (British Baits) 27-5-0.

In the Pilsworth Fisheries Wednesday Open fished on the Match Lake top weight fell to Bill Brierley (GTI Sports) 21-2-0.

In second place was D. Pollett (Hirst Tackle) 17-8-0 and for third place there was a tie between Ron Buckley (Fishermans Way) and D. Smith (Fishermans Way) 16-6-0.

Further afield, in the Lower Kersal AC Open fished on the Bridgewater Canal at Sale by 65 anglers, John Hall (Bolton AC) fishing peg 212 at Sale Station, included a 2lb tench in his 10-6-0 winning weight.

Second was Mathew Foster (Sensas NW) 5-5-0 and third, S. Wardle (Tri Cast Highfield) 5-4-0.

NEXT club trip is to Rhyl on Saturday, May 29 to fish aboard Jenson for a twelve hour wrecking trip.

The next meeting of the club is on Sunday, May 30 at 1.30pm.

This is the latest date for deposits to be for the 2005 trip to Port Sumner, Ireland. A £50 deposit is required.

CHATSWORTH ANGLING FAIR

The 21st Chatsworth Angling Fair will be held at Chatsworth House 22 to 23 May.

Gates open 8am close 6.30pm. Entrance of £8 per head, children 14 and under free if accompanied by adults. Free car parking.

THE club's next match, the Jubilee Cup, takes place on Sunday, May 23 on the Island Lodge. Draw 9am fishing 10am to 3pm.

The new perimeter fence and gate on Parkers Lodge is nearing completion and the meadowland behind the fence is to be planted out with wild flowers.

The fifth match in the target series will be held on Parkers Bottom Lodge on Thursday, May 27. Draw time 5 to 5.30pm fishing 6pm to 9pm.
