CHESHIRE...26

LANCASHIRE...32

TWO tries each for Sedgley pair Paul Arnold and Ross Bullough, along with the trusty boot of Arno de Jager secured victory for Lancashire over county rivals Cheshire at Macclesfield.

With both sides already knocked out of this year's County Championship, the game was all about securing the highest possible seeding for next year's competition, the higher the finish the more chance of playing at home.

Bullough claimed his first touchdown after just five minutes, the points improved by Park team-mate Arno de Jager's conversion.

'Arnie' then barged over for a brace of touchdowns inside five minutes, both converted by his South African clubmate.

Cheshire then pulled back to 21-10 at half-time, before Bullough grabbed his second try just after the break, and a late penalty from de Jager ensured victory.

There was further joy for Sedgley this week when it was announced that both Richard Senior and Paul Arnold have been selected for the England Counties team to tour Canada this summer.
