WORKERS at Remploy have proved learning is a piece of cake.
Disabled staff at the Radcliffe factory, in Eton Hill Road, downed tools on Thursday and tucked into a specially commissioned cake to help their company celebrate a nationwide success.
Remploy has achieved a fully-equipped learning centre at each of its 80 sites across the UK. And Radcliffe's 72 employees will be helping to mark the achievement.
The learning centre in Radcliffe opened in 2002, and is run in conjunction with Bury College. It provides courses in a huge range of subjects, ranging from basic numeracy and literacy to advanced computing and vocational training.
Equipped with state-of-the-art computers, the centre has enabled a number of staff to continue education disrupted by illness or injury.
Remploy Radcliffe manager Stephen Brown said: "Our learning centre has been an enormous success and has been of huge benefit to many of our employees."
