IT'S being described as the biggest night in the history of the club -- and who are we to disagree?

On Saturday, May 29, Bliss nightclub in Skipton welcomes one of the country's biggest dance acts of the year so far on to the stage.

LMC, who scored a number one hit with Take U2 The Clouds Above' earlier this year, will headline the night, called "The Biggest Night In Skipton's History."

We'll leave it to you to decide just how big a claim that is to make.

For those who have forgotten, the track is a combination of music from U2 and vocals from a Whitney Houston track.

It went out into the clubs as a bootleg by The Mashup Kids and was snapped by by Blackburn-based AATW Records (who, incidentally, scored their third number one of the year courtesy of Frankee's riposte to the Eamon tune "F It").

U2 happily played along, but Whitney's "people" didn't, so in came veteran AATW singer Rachel MacFarlane to provid the vocals for the track which originally got released.

She will be on stage a week on Saturday at Bliss.

DJ Mark Murray, from Burnley, is hoping the fact it's a Bank Holiday will tempt people from East Lancashire to cross the border for one night.

He said: "We've had some big nights this year but this will be the biggest by a long shot. We think it is a real coup to get LMC for the night.

"We're offering everyone free admission before 10pm every Saturday night now as a thank you to our loyal clientele."

Rachel McFarlane is no stranger to big tunes. Arguably one of the biggest of all time, Found A Lover, is also the product of her vocals.

Bliss is a "three scene" venue which includes two bars, which are open before the club gets going. Dance and commercial R'n'B tend to be the order of the night.
