FORMER Durham county player Danny Law just missed out on the cricket's 'Holy Grail' of taking all ten wickets when he collected nine victims in the Veka Ribblesdale League.

Read's professional took 9-32 as Ribblesdale Wanderers crashed to 73 all out and Law helped his team stretch their lead at the top of the table to 11 points after just six games.

Barnoldswick and Settle lead the chasing pack, with Matthew Plant scoring an undefeated 91 as the Victory Park club beat Cherry Tree by seven wickets. Earlier the Blackburn club's professional, Zahoor Elahi, had scored 57.

Settle picked up maximum points after last year's professional Stewart Hornby, now playing as an amateur, took 7-23 to dismiss Great Harwood for 71. The Dales side took just 10 overs to race to victory.

Baxenden paid the penalty for a dropped catch after Clitheroe's Neil Bolton survived an early chance to score 76 as his side set a target of 178-7. The home club could only reach 149 despite 58 from Simon Payne as Bolton took 6-41.

Oswaldtwistle Indian professional Raja Ali hit sparkling form with 112 not out as he led his side to victory in a high scoring clash with Blackburn Northern. Professional Gareth Flusk scored 53 for Northern, backed up by 52 not out from Farooq Butt as they reached 231-4. Andrew Metcalfe was on 57 not out as he partnered Ali past the winning post.

Earby openers Sam Munns (52) and professional Mohammed Ayub (56) produced a century opening partnership and Scott Hudson took 4-29 as the Applegarth club beat Padiham by six wickets. Siddique had earlier scored 58 for Padiham.

Wicket keeper Martin Davies scored 50 with Andy Pratt adding 87 as Whalley scored 225-6. They picked up maximum points as Edenfield were dismissed for 164.
