IT is with deep sincerity and gratitude that the Committee of Derwent Hall, in George Street, Darwen, on behalf of the many people who attend for various clubs.
Wish to acknowledge the most generous bequest from their former chairman and vice president, Mrs Jennie Whalley.
We wish it to be known that for almost 20 years Mrs Whalley devoted herself to the success and development of Derwent Hall.
Her most generous bequest from her estate of £8,490 proves that Derwent Hall held a special place in her heart.
She will long be remembered both for her most generous donation and for her tireless work over so many years. We are indeed indebted to her.
