THREE men have appeared before Bury magistrates accused of concocting a robbery story to dishonestly obtain more £1,300 cash from their employers.

Andrew Bennett, aged 19, of The Terrace, Prestwich, Gary Holmes, aged 21, of Minerva Street, Huddersfield, and Anthony Leather, aged 18, of Calder Drive, Swinton, were charged with stealing £1,344 cash from Kentucky Fried Chicken.

They were also charged with perverting the course of justice by making a false report of a robbery and a fraudulent statement claiming the money had been stolen by others.

All three were granted unconditional bail and will appear at Bolton Crown Court on June 15.
