THE HISTORY of Manchester Jewry will be explored in a heritage trail this Sunday (May 30).

The trail will leave Manchester Jewish Museum, in Cheetham Hill Road, at 2pm, and take in the streets and buildings that were once home to the Jewish community.

Visitors will be led past Cheetham Town Hall, the Ice Palace and buildings used for Jewish education.

Back at the museum, there will be a chance to view two exhibitions: one on Manchester's Jewish community and one entitled "Turquoise, purple and scarlet wool" which is a collection of tapestries by Janette Cattan.

Tickets for the trail cost £5.25 and £3.65 for concessions. A family ticket costs £15.

Groups should book in advance, contact the museum on 0161 834 9879.
