RISHTON station was kept busy as a party of more than 1,000 - including nearly 600 children - boarded a train for Morecambe.
They were having an outing as guests of Rishton's combined working men's club. At Morecambe they were met by buses and taken to Heysham Head before returning to Morecambe for tea. Each child was given 3s to spend.
