A 61-YEAR-OLD man who raided a vulnerable pensioner's home is facing a jail term.

Ex-convict John Brown's victim - a 92-year-old woman - lived near him in Oswaldtwistle, Burnley Crown Court heard.

Brown has 13 previous convictions, including six for burglary and has served jail terms of up to 42 months.

Several years ago he was sentenced for climbing through the roof space into a woman's loft and taking knickers from her laundry basket.

Brown was yesterday found guilty of burglary by a jury. He was bailed until June 24 when he will be sentenced at Preston Crown Court.

The defendant, who denied the charge, was warned by Judge Stuart Baker he would most likely go to prison.
