COUNCILLOR Keith Grime (Letters, May 21) seems to have forgotten that the vast majority of the council's income comes from a government block grant and that is taxpayers' money too!
A waste of the public's money is a waste of money from wherever that money originated.
Could Coun Byrne please tell me who was the genius who spent all that money on those double mini-roundabouts on Sunnybank Road but couldn't find the resources to attend to the dangerous deep potholes on Randale Drive and Sandown Road, Bury.
The stupidity of the money being spent on a "white elephant" fountain in the Longfield and silly roundabouts shows a state of mind that is totally out of tune with the wishes and aspirations of Bury's council taxpayers.
