I REFER to the article "Tory councillor faces disciplinary action" (May 21) and am shocked that the Bury Times was able to obtain a copy of a confidential letter. I am led to believe that only two copies of this letter were sent out from the Standards Board of England; one being to Councillor Jim Taylor himself. It is obvious that Coun Taylor would have kept his letter confidential.
The release of this confidential document, during the run-up to the local elections, leaves one to assume that it has been produced to discredit the Tory campaign and to discredit Coun Taylor, in particular.
