THE owner of a car showroom on Radcliffe New Road, Whitefield complains about traffic wardens giving him tickets because he parks his cars on the pavement (Guide, June 4).

He also states that his cars cannot be parked on the road as it would restrict it to one lane (it would never do to inconvenience his fellow-motorists, would it?).

The owner also says "we might leave a car on the pavement for five minutes", so presumably any pedestrian wishing to proceed along Radcliffe New Road during this time would have to risk life and limb by walking into the road, or cross to the other side of this busy road.

It looks as as though, once again, the poor old pedestrian has drawn the short straw!
