PERCY Leonard, the D-Day veteran feature in last week's Citizen, has described his emotions as he joined former comrades in Normandy to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the landings.
Mr Leonard, of Crumpax Croft, Longridge, served in the King's Hill Rifle Brigade and visited Ranville cemetery to meet up with former comrades.
He said: "It was upsetting but good to meet up with people from my regiment and share memories. The French welcomed us and came running up to kiss me. I had a lump in my throat."
